“I will never forget the first time I heard the word cusp. In my mind’s eye, I can still go back to it and visualize the whole scenario of that magical night. As a young man growing up in the 70s, one night, I was all dressed out in my tie-dyed shirt and Bell bottom jeans when a young lady asked me what my sign was. Being a naïve young man from Mississippi, I responded I don’t know, and I’m not really in that stuff. Granted, I had no idea what stuff I was confessing that I was not into.
Curiosity seemed to envelop her being, and the lady kept on talking to me. She continued the conversation by asking me my date of birth and stuff related to it. I remember replying to her with a simple ‘April 20’, which is my real birth date. Upon my reply, she literally started gleaming with excitement and joy and replied, “Oh, you’re on the cusp of Aries and Taurus.” I just gave her a smile, and she proceeded to explain to me some stuff that I wasn’t really into and to be honest, I’m still not into it. However, the concept of transition that is in the word cusp never left me; she just added a new word to my vocabulary that immediately got stuck into my mind!
That night, when I got back home, I kind of started to search about the idea behind this word. I wanted to know more about it. Although it might seem a very ‘basic’ term to some of you, I would still say that it changed my life, as it gave me a better understanding of the most powerful types of transitions that exist in this world. According to my theory, all of us are living on the cusp of a transition into this world. There are some major transitions and movements in our life that we do not pay enough attention to—for example, the transition happening between our life and our dreams at the junction of love. Sooner or later, there comes a time in our life when we finally get to realize that the power of love can make our deepest dreams come true. That point is the biggest transition ever, I believe, as it has the ability to transform our lives completely. This is where the change hits us, and we realize the true worth of our dreams and also the strong connection between our desires and the power of love.”
